Edith (Esther) Rymald Horowitz
Nata a Dortmund, Germania, nel gennaio del 1930, fu inviata in Polonia con i suoi genitori e suo fratello, perché cittadini polacchi. Si stabilirono a Teschen, città natale della madre, al confine tra Polonia e Cecoslovacchia. Suo padre fu inviato ad Auschwitz dove morì, costretto ai lavori forzati. Con la madre, Hella Mehler, fu internata nel ghetto di Sosnoviece e poi a portata a Mauthausen e Gunskirchen. Furono liberate nel 1945 dagli americani e inviate a Salisburgo. Vive a New York.
Born in Dortmund, Germany, in January 1930, she was sent with her parents and brother to Poland, as citizens of that country. They settled in Teschen on the Polish-Czech border, where her mother was born. Her father was taken to Auschwitz, where he died as a forced laborer. She and her mother, Hella Mehler, were in the Sosnoviece ghetto and then in Mauthausen and Gunskirchen. They were liberated by the Americans in 1945 and sent to Salzburg. She lives in New York.
